An overview of ZALORA Fashion Festival in Singapore

ZALORA, Asia’s online fashion destination, partnered with the leading global brands in fashion, beauty, and technology to launch ZALORA Fashion Festival (ZFF), creating an innovative, playful, and interactive playground for brands to reach fashion consumers.

The ZALORA Fashion Festival took place 6 & 7 September 2019 at the DECK located in Singapore’s dynamic art district.

ZALORA co-curated the spaces with adidas, CALVIN KLEIN, NARS, Skin Inc., and VANS The festival connected offline and online by enabling guests to shop products on display through the Samsung Bixby Image Search using the Samsung new Note 10 and Note 10+, powered by Singtel.

The festival’s official hashtag #ZALORAFashionFestival became the social tag to use “to see and be seen,” as on-trend social influencers from across the region propelled the hashtag to trend across social platforms generating social buzz for the event over the weekend.

ZALORA hosted a preview on 6 September to give VIPs a first look at the brand rooms, triggering major FOMO moments that would drive fashion fans to the festival grounds the next day when it opens to the public.

Visual technology by Samsung

Samsung brought visual search shopping to the festival through Samsung’s Bixby Vision using their new Note 10 and Note 10+ powered by Singtel.

Samsung QLED 8K TVs were placed around ZALORA Fashion Festival grounds for the brand partners to show their brand videos. Samsung’s QLED 8K TV is the first ever 8k screen in the market.

8K transforms flat images into a deeper, more life-like experience delivering unprecedented depth of picture clarity, illuminating the smallest details in every scene.

Adidas adicolor collection, a symbol of sports and street culture is one of the key highlights for the collection for ZALORA Fashion Festival. The collection features a quartet of classic sport colors to utilize across both men’s and women’s collections. Kaleidoscopic Blue, Green Red, and Yellow took over classic styles that have been reimagined for today.

Adidas also co-presented the Adidas Fashion Show during the VIP preview of the festival for guests to have a closer look at the collection.

Skin Inc’s Futuristic Skin-Tech meets Re-imagined Rainbow

Skin Inc, famous for its Japan made custom skincare products and nourishing serums and award-winning hi-tech beauty gadgets, previewed their latest skinnovation, Optimizer Voyage Tri-Light Glasses for Bright Eyes at the festival.

These fuss-free custom LED Eyeglasses have 3 color settings (Red/Yellow/Orange) that help promote skin suppleness and radiance, and helps reduce the appearance of dark
circles under the eyes, reduce puffiness and alleviate signs of eye fatigue caused by blue light emitted from devices and screens.

Vans celebrate Vanguards

Vans skateboard presented its signature checks “Off the wall,” highlighting the Vanguards. For the Vanguards, it is simple: Style matters.

To that end, Vans team riders, Brighton Zeuner, Lizzie Armanto, Yndiara Asp, and newcomer, Mami Tezuka, are putting their signatures on a new movement in skate culture – where individuality, creativity, and self-expression win.

The Samsung Flip, an interactive whiteboard, was also placed in the installation for guest to draw on it and put their mark on a digital blackboard simulating graffiti culture on a street-themed room.

Elevated by NARS

In celebration of 25 years of rule-breaking beauty, NARS introduces a new provocative lip lineup of trendsetting shades in addition to the brand’s original 12 revolutionary hues.

Their elevator-inspired beauty room had giant neon lit lipsticks silhouette, and could
change light colours, depicting four different personalities, by pressing the elevator buttons.

Fashion laundromat by CALVIN KLEIN

CALVIN KLEIN and ZALORA collaborates for a Laundry room. On hangers, are the latest collection from CALVIN KLEIN available on ZALORA. Guests can shop these curated looks from their phones as they can scan, or take a photo of the items to shop the looks on ZALORA.

Red lights enveloped the room and front load washing machines were lit to give guests the perfect backdrop for their social feed.

#Zstylenow by ZALORA and TikTok

TikTok, the world’s leading short video platform, partnered with ZALORA to raise the festival’s social game with the TikTok x ZALORA #Zstylenow challenge.

TikTok challenged  guests and their social followers to shoot as many outfits as they can do and post on TikTok for a chance to win S$200 ZALORA gift cards.

TikTok creators, including the likes of @dianeeey777 (Diane), @geraldpng95 (Gerald), and @jaylyn_shuting (Jaylyn) were also at the festival to showcase how guests could take their passion to the next level by creating a diverse array of TikTok fashion-inspired videos.

Food Chomp-ion from Chope (www.chope.co)

Chope brought in a food truck featuring Morsels to serve creative fusion dishes with an amalgamation of different flavours to engage the festival guests’ five senses.

ZALORA Style Session

Facilitated by Marco Ferrari, from ZALORA’s private label team, ZALORA held a Style Session for its guests during Day 2 of the ZALORA Fashion Festival. Held at the Samsung VIP Lounge, Ferrari gave tips and tricks in styling using ZALORA’s in house brands; ZALORA, ZALORA Basics and Something Borrowed that was captured live on ZALORA’s social channels.

Southeast Asia talent on display at ZFF

The festival also had performances from top artists like Tabitha Nauser serenaded the crowd with live pop and R&B grooves, DJ Arabyrd from Malaysia served guests with fresh and funky music and Singapore’s own, DJ Linda Hao completed the whole feels with her music picks behind the deck.
