Uniqlo Malaysia has opened a second store in Ipoh, as the fast-fashion retailer continues its furore across Asia.

The diamond in Fast Retailing’s apparel portfolio crown, Uniqlo’s new store is located in the city’s largest shopping centre, Ipoh Parade Mall.

The new store offers Uniqlo’s full range of men’s and womenswear as well and children’s and babies’ clothing.

The December 23 opening was marked by instore gifts and promotions, in a bid to increase footfall at the new Ipoh hub.

Uniqlo’s first store in Ipoh opened at Aeon Mall Ipoh Klebang in 2015. The latest Ipoh store is Uniqlo Malaysia’s 37th store.

In September 2016, Uniqlo bowed its Asian flagship on Singapore’s Orchard Road – a three-storey outlet, which is the largest of its kind in the region.

The move signalled a strategic retail shift for the Japanese firm who announced more stores are to come in the US, London and across Asia to help reduce its dependency on its home market where household spending is falling.

Fast Retailing Co said back in October that it expects its international market operating profit to jump 37.5 percent to a record high 175.0 billion yen ($1.70 billion) for the year to August 2017.
