Loewe’s Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson teased the collaboration on his personal Instagram account on 20th December 2021, with the caption “Magic in the air. Coming January 7”. The post featured an image of one of Spirited Away’s character Boh in a mouse form in a Loewe shopping bag.

A few days after, Loewe announced that the House will partner again with Studio Ghibli for another capsule collection. Inspired by “Spirited Away”, Miyazaki’s classic animation released in 2001, their latest capsule will include leather goods and outerwear garments, incorporating the faces of the film’s iconic characters such as Chihiro, Yubaba, Haku and No-Face.
