The new Balenciaga flagship store will retail an extensive collection from the Kering-owned brand, including its Fall/Winter 2024 line-up, featuring ready-to-wear garments, footwear, bags, small leather goods, and accessories, with luxury brand’s full range available to JD.com’s 600 million customers in China.

Of note, the French brand’s new Stapler Sneaker will also make its China online debut via the new store.

On the opening day, Balenciaga and JD.com will offer customers the opportunity to purchase luxury items with up to 24 months of interest-free installments.

Additionally, Balenciaga will participate in JD.com’s major promotional campaigns, including the 24 Fall and Single’s Day events.

Balenciaga is the latest luxury label from parent company Kering group to launch on JD.com, which serves as a online gateway for foreign brands to reach the savvy online Chinese shopper.

The Balenciaga opening follows launches of stablemate luxury brands Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Saint Laurent, and signals an increasing focus on the mainland customer following lacklustre sales results in recent quarters.

In its most recent trading update, Kering said revenues fell 11 percent to EUR 9 billion in the first half, on the back of double-digit declines at the luxury giant’s struggling Gucci brand.
