Located in the Chinese capital’s Taikoo Li Sanlitun luxury retail district, the relocated Acne Studios Beijing store is one of the Swedish brand’s largest globally, spanning two-storeys and covering 436 square metres of retail space.

Drenched in the Stockholm-based brand’s pale pink colourway, the store was designed in partnership with local Swedish interior design firm Halleröd, with bespoke furniture by British designer Max Lamb, with lighting by and French artist Benoit Lalloz.

Daniel Silver, the British artist, created a series of black and green mannequin sculptures that sit throughout the space.

In addition to Acnes Studios’ latest men’s and women’s collections, the revamped store location will also retail a line of limited-edition pieces in different shades of pink.

The store also features a VIP room located in the back of the second floor.

Acne Studios first opened at Taikoo Li Sanlitun’s Northern Plaza in 2018. The new relocation to the nearby Southern Plaza precinct makes the location better positioned, according to Acne Studios

“We wanted to give the best of Acne Studios to Beijing in a much stronger setting,” Mattias Magnusson, Acne Studios CEO told WWD, about the relocation and revamp.

“When they [Taikoo Li Sanlitun] offered us to open a more real flagship, we jumped at it. We wanted it to be almost at the intersection between North and South so that we would be able to meet clients from both parts,” Magnusson told the media outlet.

The Beijing flagship reopening comes seven months after Acne Studios teamed up with Bluebell Group for the luxury brand’s entry into the Taiwanese market.
