Nitori to expand to South East Asia

Japan’s furniture and household retail company, Nitori, will open its first stores in South East Asia this year and plans to have 30 stores open there within five years.

Nitori currently has 692 stores in Japan and 88 spread across Taiwan, China and the US. The furniture and household retail giant recently announced a target of 3,000 stores by 2032 and sales of ¥3 trillion (US$ 26.3 billion), with overseas expansion being a key part of the growth strategy.

The first South East Asia store will open in Malaysia in January followed by Singapore in March where Nitori will take over some of the space currently used by Nojima.
