As part of the agreement, ten MSGM mono-brand shops are due to open in South Korea by 2028, with the first stores scheduled to open in autumn 2024.

“With ambitious growth targets, MSGM and I.D. Look are joining forces to explore new opportunities and continue to support the brand’s experimental and distinctive character on the Korean fashion scene,” said MSGM in a statement.

Founded in 1988, I.D. Look is a Korea-based firm that specialises in the lifestyle and contemporary fashion segment. It distributes over a dozen brands, mainly French, in South Korea and Japan, including A.P.C., Sandro, Claudie Pierlot and Maje, as well as Marimekko, Essentiel Antwerp, Keith and Il Bisonte.

MSGM was founded in 2009 with the support of Manifattura Paoloni, which produces its collections and holds 49 percent stake alongside the brand’s founder and creative director, Massimo Giorgetti, with a 19 percent stake, and the Italian fund Style Capital, which holds a 32 percent stake.

In addition to its home city of Milan, MSGM operates some 500 retail locations across with Europe, the Americas and Asia, with stores in Japan, China, Macau, and Malaysia.

The brand opened its first store in Taiwan in 2019, in partnership with local distribution firm Bluebell Group.
