With immaculate interiors, the tower is the only hotel in the world that was wholly designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld, said the G-III Apparel-owned brand.

The multisensory hotel experience includes 271 rooms; the Mesa Restaurant featuring award-winning chef José Avillez; a Book Lounge featuring 4,000 hand-picked books; and a spa and wellness center including indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Each of the rooms and suites showcases influences of both classic Chinese design and contemporary Western aesthetics: custom-created headboards were inspired by Chinese coins, while porcelain vases were handmade in Jingdezhen and circular room dividers were inspired by traditional Chinese moon gates.

Meanwhile, furnishings include sculptures by Dutch artist Marcel Wanders and French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, and Terzani chandeliers.

Owned by SJM Resorts S.A., The Karl Lagerfeld Macau is the latest addition to the hospitality group’s hotel portfolio.

In 2016, the fashion label, founded by the eponymous German couturier, announced it was entering the luxury hotel business, and scheduled the opening of a first hotel in Macau in 2018. Construction delays and the pandemic forced Karl Lagerfeld to postpone the opening.

In May last year, G-III Apparel Group announced that it had entered into an agreement to purchase the remaining 81 percent interest Karl Lagerfeld for EUR 200 million (USD 210 million).
