Located in one of the three towers of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, Palazzo Versace Macau is designed with a mix of Italian design codes and local Chinese symbolism.
Featuring 271 rooms and suites across 12 floors, the hotel’s interior design is evocative of an Italian Palazzo, and Versace’s Milanese heritage.
Guests are welcomed at the expansive lobby by a representation of Versace’s home in Milan—the Palazzo at Via Gesù 12 that houses the Versace Atelier—crafted from over 80,000 hand-laid enamel mosaic tiles.
Codes of the house including the Medusa, geometric Greca motif, and Barocco print are rendered in craft finishes, alongside the chrysanthemum flower and an ornate dragon—which feature throughout the hotel, with decorative sculptures and lush custom carpets incorporated into terrazzo floors and mosaics.
In addition to the rooms, the hotel amenities include two Italian restaurants, a wellness retreat, personal training studio, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
“I am delighted to celebrate the opening of this truly beautiful Palazzo Versace here in Macau with an amazing performance by the incredible John Legend,” said Donatella Versace, chief creative officer at Versace, in speaking at the hotel’s opening on March 24 in Macau.
“It is wonderful to bring together so many friends for such a special event to mark the opening. I know that Palazzo Versace will continue this warm welcome for every guest who comes to visit, for many years to come.”
The project was developed in partnership with SJM Resorts, which is controlled by the family of Macao real estate mogul Stanley Ho.
According to the hotel’s official website, room rates range from about USD 150 to USD 500 per night.
Palazzo Versace Macau is the first Palazzo Versace luxury hotel in Asia, and the second worldwide following the Palazzo Versace Dubai opening in 2016.
The very first Versace hotel opened in 2000 on the Gold Coast in Australia. The project was conceptualised by Gianni Versace before his death. However, the branding agreement ended in early 2023.
