IWC Schaffhausen has arrived at the Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex on Hainan Island. For the first time in China, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer presents its brand-new boutique concept, featuring a contemporary design and a digital experience with state-of-the-art hologram technology.

In addition, IWC Schaffhausen has opened a new pop-up experience, offering the brand’s new Portofino ladies’ collection. To celebrate, the Portofino Automatic 37 in stainless steel with a blue dial and blue calfskin strap will be available exclusively at selected boutiques in Hainan until the end of 2022. Visitors can also try on IWC’s new Portofino collection first-hand – including the new Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34 with its day and night complication.
Inside, the store features aesthetic elements of the brand’s converted shipping containers – which have become the signature feature of its exhibition and roadshow concept. Hologram technology enables visitors to interact with IWC brand ambassadors like freeski double Olympic champion Eileen Gu, and shoppers can also learn more about IWC’s unique engineering approach to luxury watchmaking.
Furthermore, visitors can pose in a living room on a sofa, on a terrace on a swing, or even in a bathroom in a bubble bath for social media opportunities. The experience is complemented with a ‘Portofino Café’, where guests are served coffee, juices, or a choice of savoury cocktails.

Located at Xinhai Port in the capital of Hainan Province, Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex is the world’s largest duty free shopping mall.

In the China region, the brand’s latest Portofino Automatic 37 is available exclusively at the IWC boutiques operated by the China Duty Free Group (CDFG) in Hainain until the end of 2022. In addition, the timepiece is eligible for registration under the My IWC care program and can benefit from a 6-year extension to the standard 2-year International Limited Warranty.
