With this update, buyers and sellers may now interact in-app, request or collect payments, and monitor orders all from within an Instagram conversation.

“We want to help people start conversations with businesses they care about and help them find and buy products they love in an easy, seamless experience, right from the chat thread,” stated Meta in the press release.

According to Meta, one billion users message businesses per week through the platforms of the social media corporation. This involves interacting with stories, browsing items, speaking with brands, and asking for support.

To make purchases within the social media app simpler, payments can be made in conversation using Meta Pay. Customers may check out with just a few touches with Meta Pay rather than the standard payment method of clicking between pages and websites. Additionally, it offers purchase protection and safe processing.

By sending a direct message to a merchant, customers can start a conversation, ask questions about the products, and then make purchases within the same thread.

Businesses may now use Meta Shops’ new feature, which makes it easier to create a seamless online store for Facebook and Instagram. Businesses that do not presently utilise Shops will also be able to use the new feature, which enables them to manage conversations, offer assistance, and complete transactions without leaving the Instagram platform.
