China hot pot chain Haidilao opens in the Philippines in June

Haidilao International Holding Ltd., a Chinese hot pot business, will launch its first branch in the Philippines in June, according to the Department of Trade and Industry in the Philippines.

Founded in Sichuan Province of China in 1994, Haidilao has become a world-renowned catering enterprise. Haidilao currently owns over 1,000 restaurants in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, US, United Kingdom, Canada, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, and Japan.

Since 2020, the DTI’s representative office in the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) has aided Haidilao in their expansion goals in the Philippines. PTIC-HK and PTIC-Guangzhou both aided in the dispatch of a team to the Philippines to open Haidilao’s first branch.

Apart from the catering branch, Haidilao is expected to expand and set up other outlets within 2022.
