Gucci opens first-ever Gucci Salon in Japan

Italy’s Gucci has unveiled the first Gucci Salon concept store in Japan, serving as the second Gucci Salon worldwide, after the luxury house unveiled the new store concept in Los Angeles in April.

Located along Namiki Street in Ginza, Tokyo, the new Gucci Salon can be found on the third floor of the Gucci Namiki flagship store. Gucci first opened a store in that street in 1946, before the Kering-owned brand opened a one-of-a-king flagship in 2021, offering exclusive services and experiences such as the Michelin-star Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Tokyo.

Inspired by the origin of the salon as an intimate, personal space, Gucci Salon Namiki evokes the atmosphere of an elegant home. Every aspect proposes a bespoke and luxurious experience for clientele, accessories and shoes are made in precious leathers, others embellished with crystals, diamonds or 18-carat gold.

Gucci’s iconic Horsebit loafer, currently celebrating its 70-year anniversary,
along with the signature Horsebit 1955 handbag, are available with an 18K Horsebit
detail with pavé diamonds, offered in a palette of precious leathers and different
linings.

The brand’s Valigeria offering includes rigid trunks that echo original archival styles

Tapping into local cultural, the space showcases a carefully curated selection of artworks by local contemporary artists, which will change over time.

“Through workshops and events, guests are invited to immerse themselves in a harmonious fusion of Gucci’s identity and codes with the abundant local cultural heritage, resulting in one-of-a-kind experiences that resonate with both Gucci’s global identity and the distinctive characteristics of Namiki,” said Gucci in a press release, about the new Gucci Salon.

Following the opening of its Los Angeles and Tokyo locations, Gucci Salon spaces will open in London, New York, Paris, Milan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Taipei, to be unveiled throughout 2023 and 2024.
