Hill + Knowlton China hires consumer and retail practice lead

Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) China has appointed Helen Yang as Vice President to head the Consumer and Retail practice.

Yang brings over 20 years of experience to H+K, including senior communication roles at Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Metro Cash & Carry and IHG. Most recently, Yang was with Tsinghua Tusholdings Industrial Fund where she held position of Partner.

Based in Shanghai, Yang will report to QC Liang, President and CEO of H+K China. Liang comments, “Helen’s appointment strengthens our senior leadership team as we focus on driving the business forward in China.

Helen brings to H+K a uniquely well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of several communication practices: beyond her consumer and retail experience, she has a proven track record in public affairs, crisis communications, training and CSR, which will be invaluable across our client base.”

Yang adds, “I am delighted to join the H+K team at such an exciting time in communications. Having extensive experience client-side, I feel well placed to lead our business partners through the changing media landscape as we create powerful and integrated communication solutions.”

Yang is a regular speaker at business forums, conferences and chambers of commerce, and is also the author of the book, “New Thinking of Crisis Management”, published in April 2016.
