GM hires Perry from Hyundai to lead Chevy marketing

General Motors Co. hired a senior marketing executive away from rival Hyundai Motor Co. in the automaker’s latest move aimed at adding more consumer punch to its Chevrolet brand.

GM said Christopher J. Perry is joining the company as vice president of Chevrolet marketing. He succeeds Jim Campbell, who had only been named Chevy marketing chief in March. Campbell will remain with GM and take charge of marketing GM’s performance cars and motor sports activities.
