US cosmetics firm Estee Lauder has appointed Andrea Dorigo as senior vice president, general manager for global retail, effective 27 February 2018.

Reporting directly to Olivier Bottrie, global president for travel retail and retail development, Dorigo will oversee the strategies for driving profitable retail growth, optimize the company’s omni-channel model and foster creative thinking.

His new role will involve working closely with brands, regions and affiliates to guarantee retail operational efficiency and increase consumer coverage, said the company.

“Andrea’s deep experience managing complex global teams, his ability to drive innovative thinking and disruptive growth models, and his proven effectiveness at brand building and brand expansion ideally position him to lead our retail transformation towards New Retail at the global level,” commented Bottrie.

Dorigo was previously CEO of Pirch, a retail disruptor in the home appliance industry.

Prior to this, he was president of Luxottica-owned Oakley, responsible for developing the brand’s multichannel model, having already served as president of Brooks Brothers Group’s American division.

Based in New York, Estee Lauder boasts brands such as Aveda, Aramis, Clinique and Too Faced.

The group’s products are sold in over 150 stores worldwide inside leading department stores and multi-brand retailers.

In the last fiscal year, Estee Lauder generated group revenues of $11.82 billion, 5% compared to the previous fiscal year.
