DFS opens first retail phase at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport’s Terminal 3A

Luxury travel retailer DFS Group unveiled this month the first phase of its newest airport store in domestic Terminal 3A at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.

Phase one sees the opening of DFS’ multi-brand sunglasses store which offers a varied lineup of 21 luxury brands for customers to shop including LVMH-owned Thelios, Luxottica, Safilo, Marchon and Kering Eyewear, which will see the latter enter the airport channel for the first time. Marking the festive season, the assortment features a selection of Lunar New Year exclusives from Gucci, Burberry and Prada, with more exclusives planned for 2023.

Following this opening, phase two will showcase an array of an additional 15 branded boutiques spanning 1,500 square metres across the fashion, watches, jewellery and accessories categories, including first-time duty paid airport debuts from Valentino and Moncler.

Other brands already secured by the airport including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Gucci and Burberry, promising a truly luxurious retail experience at Terminal 3A.

Once fully open, DFS will operate a total of 1,800 square meters of Terminal 3A, having also secured the bid to operate Zone D in October 2022.

Chongqing is Mainland China’s largest city, with a population of more than 30 million. In 2021, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport was ranked fourth in China by domestic passenger volume, with over 35.8 million people passing through Terminal 3A.
