Hang Seng Indexes announces partnership with Google Cloud

Hang Seng Indexes Company and Google Cloud announced their partnership to accelerate Hang Seng Indexes Company’s technological transformation and service capabilities.

Hang Seng Indexes Company operates as an index compiler in both the Hong Kong and mainland China markets. The company currently manages more than 1,600 indexes. The partnership with Google Cloud include:

  • Scaling its index platform: Hang Seng Indexes Company will operate its index platform on Google Cloud to drive business growth and its new services department.
  • Building new data capability: Hang Seng Indexes Company will apply Google’s market data analytics and artificial intelligence functions to create new indexes.
  • Securing data distribution at scale and on-demand: Google Cloud’s global network and Hong Kong Cloud Region will enable Hang Seng Indexes Company to streamline its data management so as to secure data distribution.

“Index businesses have been experiencing rapid growth and increasing significance due to the expansion of the market for ETFs and other index-linked investment vehicles,” said Anita Mo, Chief Executive Officer of Hang Seng Indexes Company.
