Dexter King promoted to Tom Ford Beauty global general manager

Tom Ford has announced the promotion of Dexter King to the role of senior vice president, global general manager, Tom Ford Beauty, effective April 1.

Previously serving as SVP, marketing and strategy, at Tom Ford Beauty, King will continue report to Guillaume Jesel, president and CEO, Tom Ford and luxury business development, at The Estée Lauder Companies, parent of Tom Ford. King will also join The Estée Lauder Companies extended executive leadership Team.

In the his new role, King will lead the Tom Ford Beauty team in all aspects of category, channel and geography strategic growth plans. He will focus on driving the New York-based brand’s luxury beauty positioning through world-class innovation across makeup, fragrance and skincare and continue to elevate the brand, according to a press release.

King has been with Tom Ford Beauty for nine years, working in a number of leadership roles including SVP, General Manager, International and Global Strategy.

Prior to U.S. cosmetics brand, King worked across strategy and marketing roles, holding positions of increasing responsibility within companies including McKinsey & Company, Diageo, and Moët Hennessy.

“Dexter’s multifaceted leadership experience at Tom Ford Beauty has been instrumental in helping the brand achieve exceptional global growth,” said Jesel.

“His deep understanding of luxury, the importance of aspirational local relevance, and his command of the strategic growth opportunities in the luxury sector make him well-suited to lead the continued global momentum of Tom Ford Beauty.”

Parent Estée Lauder Companies acquired the Tom Ford brand in November 2022. As part of the transaction, Zegna Group acquired operations of the Tom Ford fashion business, and continued to perform its obligations as licensee.
