Tomy Winata to build Jakarta’s tallest building

Businessman Tomy Winata and US firm MGM Hospitality are joining forces to build an INR18 trillion (USD2 billion) 638-metre tower – which will be Jakarta’s tallest building – in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), a company executive said.

Agung Prabowo, the director of Danayasa Arthatama, one of Tomy’s companies, said that an agreement between Danayasa and MGM hospitality was signed in Las Vegas on Monday.

The 111-floor building, to be named the Signature Tower, will be the world’s fifth largest building, and will house a hotel, convention centre and retail space.
