Tokyo 2020 will accept refund requests for Olympic tickets between 10-30 November 2020 and between 1-21 December 2020 for Paralympic tickets for ticketholders residing in Japan. For those living outside of Japan who purchased tickets through Authorised Ticket Resellers (ATRs), each ATR will have their individual processes for refund procedures.

This follows the announcement in July in which Tokyo 2020 confirmed that all tickets that have already been purchased will be valid for the corresponding events next year. The competition schedule for 2021 mirrors the schedule planned for 2020 and events will take place at the same competition venues.

Tokyo 2020 is working in cooperation with all stakeholders toward hosting a safe and secure Games in the summer of 2021. Coordination meetings on COVID-19 countermeasures are taking place regularly to comprehensively review and coordinate on a wide range of issues, including immigration control, medical examinations and venue management.

Tokyo 2020 ticket sales for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been extremely well subscribed. A total of 33 Olympic sports with 339 events and 22 Paralympic sports with 539 events will be contested during the Games.

Tokyo 2020 is making every effort towards holding a successful Games next year, ensuring they are forever remembered as a symbol of humanity’s unity and solidarity, evidence we are stronger together in the battle to overcome this unprecedented crisis.
