Thailand’s Index Living enters community mall race

Thailand-based furniture retailer Index Living Mall Co will spend THB5 billion (USD164.6 million) to develop five community malls in Bangkok and upcountry over the next five years in a bid to create long-term sustainable growth.

Called The Walk, the first THB1.3b community mall officially opened on Thursday on Ratchaphruek Road alongside hardware and home furnishing stores such as HomePro and The Circle community mall.

The second project on 20 rai is under construction on Kaset-Nawamin Road, due to open in October. Index will then spread its wings upcountry with three new malls from 2013-15.
