Sony Ericsson announces Arima-made Walkman phone

Sony Ericsson has introduced two entry-level Walkman handsets, the Zylo and Spiro, both scheduled to launch in early third quarter 2010. The Spiro is manufactured by Taiwan-based Arima Communications, and mass production will begin at the end of the second quarter with full life-cycle shipments projected to reach 10 million units, according to industry sources.

Sony Ericsson also announced that cumulative sales of Walkman series handsets have surpassed 130 million units worldwide.
