Teaming up with Swire Properties, 1880 Hong Kong is slated to launch across four storeys in Two Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay by the close of 2024.

“Since its inception in Singapore, 1880 has been a gathering place for curious minds and passionate souls from all walks of life,” says 1880 CEO Jean Low.

“The combination of warm hospitality, wonderful F&B, wellness-enhancing amenities, and extraordinary programming has set a new standard for hospitality in the region,” Low continues.

At the core of the expansive venture lies the 1880 Hong Kong members club, nestled on the fourth floor, boasting exclusive dining options, inviting lounge areas, a spa and a fully equipped gym.

1880 will be the newest addition to Hong Kong’s ever-growing tally of private members clubs, which in recent years saw the launch of Soho House in Sheung Wan and Rosewood Hotel Group’s Carlyle & Co. in Tsim Sha Tsui. These modern dwellings complement Hong Kong’s oldest and more historic clubs, such as the Hong Kong Club, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, and Hong Kong Jockey Club, to name a few.

The 1880 Social concept, a public domain open not only to 1880 Hong Kong members but to the wider community, will provide F&B offerings alongside co-working and event spaces. It will feature establishments such as The Double (a coffee and wine bar), Hoi Polloi (inspired by Southeast Asian cuisine), Té Bo (fine dining), and The Sports Bar (an American diner).

“We sought to pay homage to Taikoo’s origins through elegant forms and subtle accents that take guests on a journey through the sugar refining process,” Patrick Ho, project director at the hospitality-focused design and architecture firm AvroKO, says, sharing that AvroKO had drawn inspiration from sugarcane fields. “This unique blend of history and innovation seamlessly melds luxury and nature, creating a sophisticated yet intimate atmosphere for 1880 members to enjoy.”
