S Korea exports rise more than expected

South Korean exports in February rose more than expected from a year earlier, government data showed on Tuesday, adding to optimism about an accelerating recovery in global demand and in Asia’s fourth largest economy.

Exports in February rose 17.9 percent from a year earlier to USD38.96 billion while imports grew 16.3 percent to USD36.11b, producing a trade surplus of USD2.85 billion after rounding, data from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy showed.
