PVR to set up 6 entertainment centres in India over next 3 yrs

Indian cinema theatre chain PVR on 10 June said it will set up six "entertainment cities" in India jointly with its Thai partner, Major Cineplex Group, over the next three years. This will entail a total investment of about INR280 crore (INR2.8 billion, USD60.2 million).

These entertainment centres – comprising a multiplex, bowling alleys, ice skating rink and food courts – will be developed at malls.

The first centre will be in Noida in partnership with real estate player Logix Group. "The project is in the planning and design stage and will be open to the public within 30 months from now," says PVR group president Pramod Arora.
