Retail sales in New Zealand fell in the first quarter from a quarter earlier, following strong sales in the second half of 2011 when a large number of international visitors came for the Rugby World Cup.
Statistics New Zealand said last week that that the volume of real retail sales fell 1.5 percent in the first quarter from the fourth quarter, when they rose a revised 1.8 percent.
