New creative director Hedi Sliman to revive YSL

After the battle over Gucci by fashion moguls Francois Pinault of PPR (Gucci Group) and Bernard Arnault (LVMH) in the mid 90’s, which was won by Arnault, the saga between has taken yet another episode with hugely talented creative director Hedi Slimane who left Dior Homme, becoming last week the new creative director at Yves Saint Laurent, company directly owned by PPR. Slimane replaced Stefano Pilati who produced exceptional YSL collection during his first five years of tenure at YSL, however, during the past three years his collections have become more and more dull and he also failed to be involved with other strategic YSL creative issues such as advertising and store concepts.
