Metro Group sales down 3.6 percent

Metro Group, the fifth largest retailer in the world, has reported a 3.6 percent sales decrease to EUR65.5 billion (USD88.15 billion) in 2009. However, the company’s sales increased 4.8 percent in Asia and Africa.

The group has announced split roles for its Cash & Carry division, with Joël Saveuse taking charge of Europe and MENA and Frans Muller heading Asia and new markets.
