In the Taiwan market, about 13,000 Blu-ray Disc (BD) players were sold in 2009 and Sony was the largest vendor with a 50 percent market share mainly due to price cuts, according to industry sources. The sales volume of BD players is expected to hike to 50,000 units in 2010 in Taiwan, the sources said.
