Indonesian subsidiaries of Japanese electronic company Sanyo Electric are upbeat they will still be able to maintain a 15-percent growth rate in the Indonesian electronics market despite an expected influx of cheaper electronics products from China as the result of the full implementation of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement.
"We have problems in competing with China’s electronic products as their production costs are cheaper," said Donny Karompis, President Director of PT Sanyo Sales Indonesia, a subsidiary of Sanyo. However, he thought with the launch of several new products, Sanyo should be able to compete with Chinese products.
