Struggling Nokia Corp will launch new Windows Mobile phones in China next month as it aims to make the world’s biggest mobile phone market "balanced," Stephen Elop, Nokia’s president and executive chief, said on Wednesday in Shanghai.
The Finnish company will also increase investment in the country by expanding its Beijing research centre and shifting production capacity to China and India from factories in Europe and Mexico, according to Elop.
Nokia will unveil a new line of Lumia phones which works on the Windows Phone system in China to compete with Android models and Apple’s iPhone. Nokia has already lunched the Lumia 710 and 800 models in overseas markets.
