Walmart to open Sam’s Club in Changsha

Walmart will soon open a supercentre and a Sam’s Club store in the Chinese city of Changsha, Hunan Province , according to Li Ling, a senior executive of Walmart China.

Walmart entered Changsha in 2003 and has 4 stores in the city and a total of 13 stores in the province. Li Ling said that Walmart Supercentre and Sam’s Club were main business formats for the group in the future and Changsha was a very important market as it was a big city and sat along Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway line.

Sam’s Club is a warehouse shopping club with its exclusive service to its members, who will get discounted prices. Now it has six stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
