On his Quality Inspection blog, Renaud Anjoran discusses the issue of re-inspections following a rejection of substandard items.
Sometimes re-inspections show the same results as first inspections, suggesting that no corrections were performed. Why? The fault can lie on either side. I have known of factories lying to a trading company, doing no real repair and just waiting until the importer runs out of time and has to ship out. I have also seen cases, however, where the information from the purchaser was not clear enough, and no one in the supply chain knew what to do.
