Popular bakery sets sights on tourists

One of the most famous bakeries in Hong Kong hopes that converting tourists to the joys of the humble egg tart will be its recipe for success.

Ever since teaming up with listed restaurant chain Tao Heung Holdings in 2007, Tai Cheong Bakery has expanded its total number of stores from 4 to 12, with 1 in Macau, and will open another 4 branches this year. Its business strategy is shifting to targeting mainland tourists, as reflected by the location of some of its stores.
