Thematically, Hortus Deliciarum pays homage to eternal love and the animal kingdom. Each jewel is placed in what Alessandro Michele describes as “discordant symmetry”, an ode to the fact that neither love nor animal behavior is based on perfection. The high jewelry line uses the strength of the lion, the courage and passion of the Tiger, the knowledge and regeneration of ouroboros, and the mystique of Dionysus to reflect the classical motifs of Gucci.
