Internet giant Facebook is boosting its efforts to attract small and medium enterprises in Indonesia to the social networking platform as it bids to tap into the nation’s increasingly tech-savvy population.
The company hosted its first marketing workshop in Indonesia on Tuesday with some 700 local business owners, following the rollout of new updates to its business pages earlier this month.
The revamped business pages are designed to be more mobile-friendly and include new features such as more eye-catching "call-to-action" buttons, to encourage users to purchase products or browse catalogues, according to a statement on Tuesday. Businesses can also contact customers directly in a private message, the statement said.
