Thailand’s cooked food prices face cuts

Thailand’s Commerce Ministry is set to impose price control measures on cooked meals to curb their soaring prices.

Speaking after Thursday’s meeting of a central committee on the prices of goods and services, Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom said the committee had resolved to add cooked food to its price control list, in addition to 42 other items.

The proposal will be submitted to the cabinet for approval next week, said Boonsong, the committee chairman.
