China leads global manufacturing recovery

China’s manufacturing increased for the thirteenth month, business sentiment in Japan rose to the highest since 2008, and factories in Britain and the Euro region stepped up output as the global economic recovery strengthened.

In other signs of the region’s strength, Indian factory output grew for the twelfth consecutive month and Australian imports of machinery and industrial equipment soared 23 percent to a 10-month high.

"We are seeing signs of a more sustained improvement in manufacturing and demand for goods both from domestic Asian markets and international markets," says Enrico Tanuwidjaja, a regional economist at OSK-DMG Group in Singapore.
