David Jones boss Paul Zahra has undertaken a significant management reshuffle – a major plank in his attempts to revive the fortunes of the high-end department store group.
The thrust of the changes is pitched at focusing more attention on two areas. The first is the credit card operation, a division whose earnings are under pressure in large part because of the stagnant growth in consumer borrowing – particularly via credit cards.
The former head of the largest merchandise area – fashion and beauty – Sacha Laing, will move to a beefed-up role of group executive, marketing and financial services.
