Average salary in Taiwan sees 3rd largest fall ever

The average salary in the first three months of the year dropped by 2.61 percent quarter-on-quarter after adjusting for inflation, the third largest decline in history, according to the Taiwanese Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics (DGBAS). The average income in March was TWD41,298 (USD1,394), which is 0.87 percent higher than that of the previous year, said DGBAS. Since the inflation rate in March was 1.21 percent, the increase of real average income in March was approximately minus 0.34 percent.
