Uniqlo shuts two Paris stores as Japanese firms in France take precautions

The Uniqlo clothing chain temporarily closed two stores in Paris on Saturday as other Japanese firms operating in France reacted to Friday’s terrorist attacks.

There was no damage reported to any Uniqlo stores in the French capital, and all employees were safe, parent Fast Retailing Co. said, though three other outlets in Paris closed early.

Department store operator Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. told employees not to visit France and Sogo & Seibu Co., a department store arm of Seven & i Holdings Co., urged three employees in Paris to stay home.
