Despite the suspension of its Chengdu operations, Taiwan’s Pacific SOGO Department Stores Co. on Wednesday said authorities have intervened in an owner-tenant dispute and its China investment plans won’t falter. Employees of the Pacific SOGO Chengdu department store were unilaterally locked out in the early hours last Monday by the landlord and joint venture partner, the Chengshang Group Co., according to The Pacific China Holdings, a subsidiary of Taiwan’s Far Eastern Group and the parent company of Pacific SOGO Chengdu.
