M&S Q4 sales beat expectations

Marks & Spencer has revealed a 5.1 percent increase in fourth quarter like-for-like sales, well above expectations, driven by a strong performance from general merchandise.

Profits are expected to come in between GBP620 million to GBP630 million (USD946.8m- USD962.1m), and staff are to share a bonus pool of GBP80 million (USD122.2 million) due to the better than expected performance.
