GUNDAM celebrates its 40th anniversary with OWNDAYS

Who doesn’t remember Gundam, the anime series created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise that features giant robots.

For the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Gundam series, Gundam joins forces with OWNDAYS for an exclusive collections with four styles and a 1 to 7 GUNDAM HEAD CASE RX-78-2 glasses case, which can be booked early in January of 2020. 1/ 7 GUNDAM HEAD CASE RX-78-2 glasses case composed of 57 exquisite parts. There are 3 positions on the eyes, sides and back, which can accommodate a total of 6 pairs of glasses.

The GUNDAM × OWNDAYS Wear the GUNDAM  includes 4 glasses frames inspired by four different Mobile Suites: Gundam, Char’s Zaku II, Zaku II, and DOM. The frames are made with a light and durable stainless sheet and each have a matte colour for a high-quality feel.

OWNDAYS is an international optical retail concept founded in Tokyo, Japan. It currently has more than 120 stores in Japan and has successfully established stores in 10 overseas countries in Asia-Pacific.

In 2018,  OWNDAYS entered a joint-venture with Bluebell to expand into Hong Kong. Since August 2018, OWNDAYS has opened 9 stores from the New Territories to Tsim Sha Tsui serving the Kowloon side and 2 on Hong Kong island.

Since January 2019, LVMH-back private equity fund L Catterton Asia has partnered with Mitsui & Co to take an unspecified stake in fast-growing Japanese eyewear retailer OWNDAYS.
