Global push behind Thailand’s Central restructuring

Central Retail Corporation (CRC), Thailand’s largest retailer, has restructured its management in order to raise its international business to half its total portfolio within five years.

CEO Tos Chirathivat said the company has regrouped its business into three units: department store, specialty store and supermarket. Top management has been decentralised by naming executives to head each business group, effective last month.

The restructuring is meant to streamline the CRC chain for the international market ahead of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
