The Future Fund is flexing its muscles as one Australia’s largest venture capital investors, tipping funds into a high-end fashion website as it seeks to take more direct stakes in promising technology start-ups.
The nation’s AUD109 billion (USD83.52b) sovereign wealth fund has been revealed as a late-stage investor in the website Moda Operandi in a deal that closed late last year.
Moda Operandi was founded in 2010 in New York City and allows women to pre-order the latest high-end fashion trends straight off the runways of Paris, New York and Milan – and the red carpets of Los Angeles.
