pple’s new iPads have been flying off the shelves since they were launched in selected Asian markets last Friday morning. Among the many attractive features is the ultra-fast wireless access based on the 4G LTE technology. However, one technology expert warns that the high-speed connectivity may not be applicable to Asia’s wireless networks.
"The LTE bands that the iPad supports are not supported in many global markets, this includes Singapore and Australia," said Melissa Chau, research manager of client devices at IDC, a research firm which focuses on technology trends and developments.
She adds that Asian customers would only be able to log on using the slower 3G network.
