LightInTheBox, Baidu Dianxin partner to expand in global mobile markets

Chinesel online retailer LightInTheBox has partnered with mobile app provider Baidu Dianxin to jointly develop solutions for the global mobile markets.

LightInTheBox provides consumers in more than 200 countries apparel and other general merchandise products through its website, mobile website, and mobile apps in 27 different languages.

Its new partner, Baidu Dianxin, a fully owned subsidiary of Chinese search engine Baidu, has developed a wide range of mobile apps for consumers in more than 200 countries, like its power-saving app, DU Battery Saver and mobile boosting app, DU Speed Booster.

Under the partnership, Baidu Dianxin will provide opportunities for more global consumers to discover LightInTheBox products and download its mobile apps. In exchange, LightInTheBox will provide Dianxin additional monetization capability for its app distribution.

"This is a great example of two Chinese Internet companies working together to expand in global markets" said Alan Guo, chairman and CEO of LightInTheBox.

Zhang Lei, CEO of Baidu Dianxin, added that the two companies believe there will be more Chinese Internet and mobile companies going global in the future and the partnership can set an example for future collaborations.
