LG Electronics intros 3D-enabled PC lineup

LG Electronics, South Korea’s second biggest consumer-electronics maker, on Monday said it has developed 3D-capable personal computers.

The company is one of several international consumer-electronics companies making the push into bringing 3D-capable devices into the home, hoping to cash in early and get ahead of the potential demand for 3D entertainment in the home.

Priced between USD1,315 and USD1,500, the company’s three newly announced laptop models will be joining a range of LG desktops and monitors that will be 3D compatible. Due for launch next year, the laptops are predicted to make up 30 percent of LG’s portable PC lineup. The laptops will require 3D glasses to enhance the images on-screen.
